This organic yet elegant tall lidded vessel is composed of clay that is hand-formed and pit-fired. During the firing process strands of horse hair and sawdust are applied which burn off leaving intriguing lines and squiggles of sooty black markings. The designs on the incised lid and neck are first drawn with a needle then blade carved into intricate patterns which may include stars, flowers or a series of lines. As a finishing touch, the vessel is burnished by rubbing the surface with a small amethyst stone which imparts it's signature smooth surface. A very pale matte grey glaze accents the exquisite carving.

A gorgeous addition to the coffee table, foyer console or office decor!
